This Cookie Policy explains how Chatbyte GmbH ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the Autodigital website and SaaS product (the "Service").

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and identifiers that allow information to be stored or accessed on your device.

2. Legal basis (Germany / EU)

For users in Germany and the EU/EEA, storing or accessing information on your device is governed in particular by:

  • § 25 TTDSG (consent requirement for non-essential storage/access; exception for strictly necessary storage/access), and
  • GDPR (e.g. Art. 6(1)(a) consent and Art. 6(1)(f) legitimate interests for related personal data processing).

3. Cookie categories we use

We use a consent manager that groups cookies/technologies into the following categories:

3.1 Necessary

Purpose: Required to provide the Service you request (e.g. login, security, load balancing, consent preferences).
Legal basis: § 25(2) TTDSG (necessary) and, where personal data is processed, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (security/operation) and/or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance).

3.2 Measurement (Analytics)

Purpose: Understand how the Service is used and improve it (e.g. page views, feature usage, diagnostics).
Legal basis: Your consent under § 25(1) TTDSG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, where required.

3.3 Marketing

Purpose: Marketing measurement and advertising-related technologies (only if enabled).
Legal basis: Your consent under § 25(1) TTDSG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

4. How you can manage your choices

You can give, refuse, or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner and consent settings in the Service.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Providers commonly involved in cookies/analytics

Depending on your choices and configuration, the Service may use the following providers that can set or read cookies/identifiers:

  • PostHog (analytics): used for measurement and error/event capture. We use EU ingestion endpoints and respect your consent settings.

Other providers used for hosting, payments, email delivery, AI processing, database hosting, and file storage are described in Data Privacy. Not all of them use cookies.

6. Retention

Cookie lifetimes vary by category and provider. We aim to minimize retention where possible and to use non-essential technologies only with consent where required.
